Portfolio Results During the Correction

This has been a dramatic and historical decline for the market, and many investors took huge losses. Fortunately, the trading rules we followed had a positive end result.

Looking back, the ProSelect Portfolio had 12 positions at the top of the market. We went from BUY CAUTION and STAND ASIDE quickly. The warnings signs were there, and we took them!

By following the rules (raising stops, discretionary exits), the portfolio was out of the market by 27 February, resulting in:

8 winners (+27%, +26%, +23%, +10.9%, +9.6%, +6.2%, +5.6%, +1.2%)

4 losers. (-5.7%, -4.4%, -3.1%, -0.8%). 

There were twice as many winning stocks as losing stocks, and the winning percentages greatly outweighed the losers (biggest loss was -5.7%).
