Targeting Big Winners
Fulgent Genetics (FLGT) provides a good lesson on following sound trend-trading rules. FLGT was stopped out in early June for a -10.5% loss.
It subsequently was relisted, but after failing to trigger as expected, it got delisted. In November, you may remember that we entered again on a swing-trade (pivot) entry off the 50-EMA; it made quick, strong gains, but then was stopped out with a +6.0% gain.
Finally, it was relisted again in November 2020 and triggered. Fast forward to today...on Friday, a day when the Dow closed down -629 points, FLGT gained +19.5% and registered a total unrealized gain of +103% in just over two months!
As Gomer Pyle used to say, "Surprise, surprise, surprise!" The lesson is to stay on top of stocks that you've targeted as potential big winners; entries are sometimes a bit of a dance, but eventually, you may waltz with your profits to the bank.
